It’s common for people to avoid facial oils because they don’t like them or because they have oily skin, but I encourage you to reconsider! I used to think the same as well, but most of the moisturizing skincare products you’re already using contain oil.

By going directly to the source, you’re cutting out all the bad stuff in your products that you don’t actually need. The great thing about making your own DIY facial oil is that you can adjust the recipe as needed with products you know you like.

So, if you’re ready to convert, keep reading and I’ll show you how to make face oil at home right now!

How to make face oil at home

1. Prepare a dropper bottle

Open up your dark glass dropper bottle. This bottle will be the container for the facial oil we’re going to make. It has a dropper top for easy application, and its dark glass helps its content retain the ingredients’ respective, effective properties.

2. Add ingredients to the bottle

You don’t need to use every single ingredient that I used. I’m a bit of an essential oil fanatic if you haven’t already guessed, so I used oils I already knew would be beneficial for my skin.

Everyone’s skin is different, so feel free to customize the ingredient list to fit your skin type and address any concerns you may have.

Here’s my finished version. This DIY facial oil with essential oils is as easy to use as it is to make. All you have to do is apply 3-4 drops to freshly-washed hands and rub it together in your hands to distribute.

Apply to your skin after washing and drying by lightly patting it. Store the bottle out of direct sunlight and it will keep for up to six months. Let me know if you try this out and how it works for you!
