DIY Hair Product Tutorial: How to Make Your Own Hairspray

Store-bought hairspray is typically full of harmful chemicals. This DIY is a safer option that’s so easy to make and only takes a few minutes. Let’s begin!
Tools and materials:
- Water
- Sugar
- Lavender essential oil (optional)
- Salt (optional)
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoons
- Spray bottle
1. Measure water
Pour 1 cup of water into a spray bottle.
2. Add sugar
Next, add 4 teaspoons of sugar to the bottle. If you need a super strong hold, add more sugar.
If you’re looking to add more texture to your hair, you can even add a bit of salt.
3. Add essential oil and shake (optional)
Add a few drops of lavender or your favorite essential oil scent to the mixture.
Then close and shake the bottle to mix well.
DIY hairspray
Now your easy, DIY hairspray is ready to use! Apply it generously to your hair.
This DIY hair product is great because you can make it using ingredients from your pantry and it doesn’t have a list of harmful components as would a store bought option.
