One of the ways I save money is to make my own body scrub. I’ll show you how to make your own scrub here. It's super easy and helps you save money. If you search online for household products you can make at home, you are sure to find a lot. In fact, I even put together 18 household products you can make at home. Homemade body scrub is number 7 on the list. I don’t use it all of the time, but I like to switch it out every now and then rather than my store bought scrub. I am more concerned now with the chemicals I use. When I make use my DIY body scrub, I know exactly what is in it.

I love Bath and Body Works, but even with a Bath and Body Works coupon the body scrubs still cost $12 or so.Over the last few years, I have made my own body scrubs before and have saved quite a bit of money. If you would like to save money, then here are instructions on how to make a homemade body scrub.

Ingredients: Brown Sugar, Coconut oil, Glass jars or mason jars, Vanilla

First, get a glass jar and add ½ cup coconut oil. Then, mix with ½ cup brown sugar and ¼ teaspoon vanilla. Rub on to moist skin, massage, and rinse with warm water. You can store this scrub in an airtight container for several weeks. Remember, coconut oil is temperature sensitive, so depending on the temperature in your room, your body scrub could be more or less liquidy.

I especially love using the scrub on my hands to keep the soft during the wintertime. This body scrub also makes for a great budget-friendly gift idea.

After: Here is the scrub that I use in the bath. I keep a jar next to the bathtub.

These would make great gifts too!
