Nail Art Tutorial: Cute and Easy Red Flower Nails
Hi everyone! I love sharing incredible nail art with you, so today, I am going to show you how to create red flower nails. This is a cute easy gel nail design that anyone can accomplish.
I really wanted to show you something simple. This is a perfect beginner’s tutorial. It is the type of design that can help you gain more confidence with your nail art and the outcome is cute and fun.
I prefer this design on long almond-shaped nails, but you can adjust the design to suit any longer nail shape.
Enough chatting let’s learn how to do your own gel nails at home!
Tools and materials:
- White gel nail polish
- Red painting gel
- Gel
- Rhinestones
- Nail rhinestone glue
- Dotting tool
- Detail brush
- Tweezer
1. Apply base coat
Start with clean, filed nails that have a layer of gel base that has been cured.
2. Apply first coat of gel nail polish
Next, paint a thin coat of neutral-colored gel polish on your nails.
2. Cure
I cured mine for 60 seconds, but I suggest reading and following the curing directions of the gel polish you are using.
3. Apply a second coat of gel
You will notice that the nails are a bit sticky after curing. This is perfectly fine. The stickiness will help the next layer adhere better.
Apply a second coat of polish and cure for another 60 seconds.
Your nails should now have a nice white canvas.
4. Design the nail
We are going to use a painting gel to design and create our red flower nails.
Dip your dotting tool into the paint and apply 5 red dots to your nail creating a circle. I applied this towards the top right of my nails.
Continue using the dotting tool to create an S shape starting at the tip of your nail.
Curve the dots around the flower and end off the S at the bottom left corner.
Return to your original 5 circular dots and use a detail brush to smudge a line from the dot toward the center, creating a flower.
This is what the design should look like.
Repeat the red flower nail design on your other 4 nails.
5. Cure for 60 seconds
6. Apply rhinestones
To glam the look up, we are going to stick a rhinestone in the middle of each flower.
Apply the nail rhinestone glue to the center of the flower.
Place the rhinestones on each nail with tweezers and cure your nails for another 60 seconds.
7. Apply topcoat
Apply a clear topcoat to the nails to protect the design then cure for another 60 seconds.
Once the nails have cured you can wipe them with some Isopropyl alcohol to remove the sticky residue.
8. Repeat the process
Repeat the DIY flower nail process on your other hand and you’re done!
How easy was this red flower nail design? I love how the red pops off the neutral background. This design will definitely add a bit of fun to any outfit you wear.
