DIY Rosemary Mint Facial Toner
Summer skin care is challenging. You need to find a balance between cleaning off the sweat and dirt with deep cleaning pores and moisturizing your skin.
Fresh herbs are a great way to clean your summer skin. And they are a frugal skincare DIY to keep you feeling fresh!
Certain herbs have incredibly beneficial properties when applied to your skin.
Fresh rosemary is mildly astringing and mint is a great deep cleaner for clogged pores. It's also an eye-opening way to wake up in the morning!
The first step is to grow your own herbs. They are easy to grow, even for a beginner gardener.
Don't spray them with chemicals! Organic is best for you, your skin, and your food!
You are going to want to pick about half a cup of fresh herbs in total and add to a bowl of steaming hot water. Let them steep for a while to extract the essential oils.
Then, just strain off the liquid and let it cool. Then, add a few tablespoons of Witch Hazel and you are ready to clean your face!

I make a mosquito repellent with my herbs and witch hazel. I use both peppermint and spearmint, basil, rosemary and lemon balm. I don’t have measurements, I just snip off what looks like enough. I crush the leaves and put them into a jar with a tightly sealing lid and pour some witch hazel over them and let it sit for about three days. I then strain it into a small spray bottle. It works so well! We have a lot of mosquitoes and I usually get tore up. It only lasts about two hours but it’s amazing!
We grew citronella last year. I wonder if there is a way to add that to the mix?
