Everything's Coming Up Daisies in This Cute Ruffle Headband Tutorial

Daisies are such a pretty sign of summer, and this DIY ruffle headband tutorial shows off that summer look. But you can choose whatever flower you like best to create your own chiffon flower headband. Follow this ruffle headband tutorial to make one for yourself in a few easy steps.
Tools and materials:
- Floral print chiffon fabric
- White facing fabric
- Scissors
- Thread
- Plastic headband
- Hot glue
- Sewing machine
1. Cut the fabric
Cut three strips of floral chiffon fabric. All three strips should be 100 centimeters (39.4 inches) long, and each one should be a different width: 6 centimeters, 8 centimeters, and 10 centimeters (2.4 inches, 3.1 inches, and 3.9 inches).
Cut one strip of white facing 42 centimeters long by 4.5 centimeters wide (16.5 inches x 1.77 inches).
Overstitch the long edges of the facing strip to prevent fraying.
2. Create the ruffle
Starting with the narrowest strip of daisy fabric (6 centimeters or 2.4 inches), pin the fabric to the facing in four places, evenly spaced on the fabric and the facing. Your piece of fabric will be much longer than your facing, so it won’t lie flat.
Begin sewing the first fabric strip to the facing, making small folds in the fabric as you sew. Make sure the fabric folds are always pointing in the same direction. Sew the fabric with the folds in place right down the center of the length of facing.
Repeat with the 8 centimeter (3.1 inches) wide piece of floral fabric. You can now see how the ruffle is beginning to build up.
Repeat a final time with the 10 centimeter (3.9 inches) wide strip of floral fabric.
3. Glue the fabric onto the headband
Using hot glue, attach the outside center of a plastic hairband to the center of the daisy fabric.
Then, continue to apply hot glue to the hairband and attach it to the rest of the fabric until the fabric is covering the whole length of the hairband. There should be a little fabric extending beyond the hairband at both ends.
Wrap one edge of the white facing to the inside of the plastic hairband and attach it there with hot glue.
Fold under the hem of the other edge of white facing, wrap it around the hairband and use hot glue to attach it over the first side of facing. Now, only the daisy fabric ruffle extends beyond the plastic hairband, and inside the hairband is a nice clean glued facing seam.
Fold the extended ends of daisy fabric into the inside of the hairband and glue the ends in place.
Use scissors to trim the edges of the daisy fabric to a nice clean ruffle shape, narrower at the ends and fuller in the center.
