Hey there lovelies, I'm here today to share my latest make, I'm so thrilled with it and hope you love it too!

Its the By hand London Anna dress which I made in a lovely Cotton lawn, grab a cuppa and settle in, and I'll share all the making details and two ways to style it too!!

I love the retro feel of this fabric, it really makes me think of those lovely post war fabrics made up into 50's dresses by my Mums generation.

You can find the fabric here > Lady McElroy Marlie Cotton Lawn Fabric | 1234776 | Minerva

Once I's got all the pattern pieces cut out. My first step was to create some shaping in the bodice. I achieved this by stitching darts in the two back sections at the waist and pleats at both sides of the front bodice.

Then the two back bodice sections are sewn to the bodice front at the shoulder seams.

Next the neck facing is sewn together before its stitched to the neck of the dress.

I stitched it to the neck opening right sides together then flipped it to the inside and pressed it neatly down, this adds some stiffness and body to the neck opening. The next step is stitching the side seams together so the bodice is all in one piece

The beautifully full skirt is actually in five sections, and although it would have been impossible to pattern match the skirt (due to the shape of the panels) I did want them all to at least be lined up the same, here I've lined the three front sections up, side by side just before I stitched them together.

Here I'm joining the skirt panels together!

Even though the fabric isn't actually matched, I think lining the pattern up at the same horizontal line gives a feel of matching in the pattern.

Wow, were nearly done, My five skirt panels are joined together and stitched to the bottom of the bodice. I've just got the zip to add, and the hem to stitch, and its time to try this beauty on!!

Ta-da all finished and ready to go out dancing (if I like) complete with a pair of sexy heels, I feel a million dollars!!

I really love this dress, its so versatile. Perfect for date night or drinks with pals!

Alternatively lets style it up with an edgy leather jacket and comfy pumps for a good old fashioned shopping trip or garden party. I said it before and I'm going to say it again. I love this dress...

The pattern is the By Hand London Anna dress and you can find the pattern here.. > Anna Dress - Printed or PDF sewing pattern – By Hand London So what do you think, do you love it too? I'd really like to hear your thoughts so please leave me a comment!!
