Glam Evening Makeup Look Perfect for Over 50s
Follow this tutorial for a step-by-step natural evening makeup look for over 50s.Â
It’s important that you leave yourself plenty of time, so that you're calm and relaxed when you head out for your evening activities.
Your first tip is to wash and dry your hair about half an hour before starting your makeup to cool down and help your makeup stay in place.
The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.

1. Prime your face
Apply face primer, eye primer, and a clear lip balm to hydrate your lips.
2. Apply foundation and base
On the back of your hand, mix a squeeze of foundation, an extra squeeze of face primer, and a little bit of beauty balm.
Using a brush, apply the mixture to your face to cover blemishes and match your skin tone. Blend it well.
Use the last bit on your brush on areas like the forehead that may have lost some pigmentation.
Use your fingertips to blend it in wherever needed.
3. Add concealer
Apply the darkest shade of concealer to the corners of your eyes and under your eyes.Â
Gently pat it in with your finger.
4. Set with powder
Use translucent powder to set your makeup and soak up any moisture. Carry the powder with you for touch-ups if you get warm later.
5. Apply bronzerÂ
Sweep bronzer around your cheekbones for warmth. Leave blusher for later.
6. Shape brows
Paint strokes of brow shaper wherever your eyebrows are sparse.Â
Brush through with a spoolie brush to even it out.
7. Apply eyeshadowÂ
Start with dusky pink eyeshadow over your lids using a shadow blending brush. It's a subtle color that works well for evening occasions.
Apply midnight blue eyeshadow in the crease and slightly above using a small shadow blending brush.
Blend well to soften the look.
8. Add eyeliner
Use navy blue eyeliner along the top lash line and slightly wider at the corner.Â
Continue under your eyes for a dramatic look.
Set the eyeliner with midnight blue eyeshadow using a fine eyeliner brush for added intensity and softness.
9. Apply mascara
Apply navy blue mascara. Scrape off excess before application, and apply in an upward motion.
10. Lips and finishing touches
Apply lip prime around the outside of your lips to prevent lipstick from bleeding.
Find the spot to start applying blusher by smiling. Then, apply pink, starting with that smile spot and spread it out gently.Â
Blend with a blusher brush.
Use instant bright highlight along the top of your cheekbones and under your eyebrows.Â
Gently pat it in to add a luminescent sheen.
Line your lips with lip liner.
Fill in with dusky rose lipstick. Blot and apply a second layer for longevity.
Apply translucent powder to your lips with a brush before the final layer of lipstick.
Add a dab of highlighter on your Cupid's bow for a lifted look. Blend it in with your fingertip.
Glam evening makeup look
Now, sit and relax for a few minutes before getting dressed to avoid getting hot and bothered, and to avoid transferring makeup to your clothes, especially white ones, put a headscarf over your head and face before sliding on your dress.
Now you're ready for your evening out with a beautiful, long-lasting makeup look!
