2 Ways to Apply Eyeliner Over Glitter Eye Makeup For a Seamless Look
If you love to wear glittery eyeshadow, then you know how applying eyeliner over glitter can feel a bit like driving on a bumpy road. In this tutorial, I will show you two different ways to combine glittery eyeshadow with eyeliner, so you get a smoother application.
Tools and materials
- Your favorite eyeshadow
- Glitter eyeshadow
- Eyelid concealer
- Eyebrow pencil with spoolie brush
- Assorted eye makeup brushes
- Eyelash curler
- Mascara
1. Start with your eyebrows
Use a micro-tip eyebrow pencil to create the upper and lower eyebrow lines and shade in your eyebrows.
Use the spoolie brush on your eyebrow pencil to smooth down your brows.
2. Apply concealer
Apply matte concealer to your eyelids. If your concealer creases, then set it with some powder.
3. Now the eyeshadow
Blend a light brown transition eyeshadow to your eyelids, and blend it out, especially at the crease.
Add some of this same shade to your lower lash line.
4. Deepen the crease
Use a darker shade of brown and a smaller blending brush to apply shadow to the crease of your eyelid. Keep the focus on your crease and don’t buff it out as much as did with the transition shade.
Use a larger makeup brush to blend over both of the eyeshadows you have applied.
Use a small defining brush to apply the deeper brown eyeshadow to your lower lash line.
Use a bit of concealer and a concealer brush to half-cut your crease and fill in the outer half of your eyelid.
5. Add the glitter
Use a flat eyeshadow brush to apply glitter to your eyelids, making sure to stop above the upper lash line.
6. Now the eyeliner
Apply liner to your eyelid in the gap between your glitter eyeshadow and your upper lash line.
Draw out and fill in a wing at your outer corner.
7. Another method for combining glitter with eyeliner
In this method, you do your eyeliner before your eyeshadow.
Now apply glitter eyeshadow to your eyelid. Avoid getting any of it on your eyeliner.
Use a detailed brush for more control when you’re applying the glitter close to your eyeliner.
8. Finish with mascara
Curl your upper eyelashes and apply mascara to your upper and lower eyelashes.
