In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to do female Joker Halloween makeup! I was super inspired by the Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix to turn your average Joker makeup tutorial into a hot girl Halloween version! Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • White eyeshadow
  • Red eyeshadow
  • Blue eyeshadow
  • Red lipstick
  • Foundation
  • Eyeliner
  • Black eyeshadow
  • False lashes
Applying foundation

1. Foundation

Start with foundation and dab it all over your face.

Setting foundation with white eyeshadow

2. Set with a white eyeshadow

Next, go in with white eyeshadow and spread it all over your face to set your foundation.

Adding triangles to eyes

3. Draw triangles on your eyes with blue eyeshadow

Next, use a blue shadow to draw a triangle on top of your eye. Drag it up into a line past your brow.

Adding triangles to eyes

Do the same thing for the bottom of your eye and draw the blue line down to the bottom of your face.

Make sure that line is defined, because this and the lips are the biggest looks to this makeup, so you want to make sure it’s perfect.

Adding eyeshadow

4. Apply blue eyeshadow regularly to your other lid

For the other eye, use that same blue shadow and apply it as regular eyeshadow on the top and bottom of the lid.

Blending eyeshadow

5. Blend the blue eyeshadow with a lighter blue

Returning to the triangle, use a lighter blue to blend out the darker blue. This will help create some dimension on your face.

Dragging blue down

Drag the lighter blue all the way down to your jaw line.

Blending other eye

Use the same light blue to blend out the other eye as well.

Applying eyeliner

6. Apply eyeliner

Create a simple wing with eyeliner on both eyes. Nothing screams hot girl Halloween like eyeliner.

Applying eyeliner

I decided to do a double wing for this look.

Smoking out eyes

7. Smoke out your eyes

Use black eyeshadow to smoke out your eyes. Smoke it out on the top and the bottom for both eyes, but make sure to stay within the blue.

Applying lipstick to nose

8. Apply red lipstick to your nose

Use red lipstick and draw a circle around your nose and fill it in.

Filling in brows

9. Outline and fill in your eyebrows with red

Use the same red lipstick to outline your eyebrows. The original Joker look has his eyebrows way up, but we’re not trying to look too crazy - just a little creepy - so just outline them and use a dark red eyeshadow to fill them in. Make sure the color is nice and solid.

Cleaning up brows

You can use a little bit of foundation on a beauty blender to clean up the brow.

Overlined lips

10. Overline and fill in your lips with red lipstick

Go back to that same red lipstick and overline the top of your lips. Come out on the corners to make a little smile - this smile is very important in the look. Make sure the smile curves upwards so it looks like you’re really happy.

Filling in lips

Fill in the rest of your lips.

Filling in lips

11. Add additional dimension with the dark red eyeshadow

Use that same dark red shadow that you used to fill in your brows to dab around the outside of your lip to give your makeup some dimension.

Adding to nose makeup

Do the same thing with your nose, so the entire look comes together.

Applying false eyelashes

12. Apply falsies

You can’t forget your false lashes. Make sure the lashes are fully secured on your eyelids.

Adding messiness

13. Add some messiness

Joker-inspired makeup should be a bit messier, so create a little bit of a messy lip to really bring the look to life. I faded it out with a little bit of shadow and dragged it down to make it even messier.

Adding more blue

You can also add a little bit more blue and drag it out on the corner of your eyes where the triangles are.

Adding more black

Also, add a little bit more black shadow just to give it more of that hot girl look.
