Easy French Ombre Gel Nails Tutorial
Do you love French manicures, but struggle to do them at home? If so, then follow along with this tutorial!
I will show you how to get gorgeous French ombre nails, complete with glitter for an extra-special look.
Tools and materials:
- Base coat or nail foundation coat
- Sheer pink glitter nail polish
- White gel nail polish
- Small sponge
- UV lamp
- Alcohol spray
- Round makeup pads
1. Apply your base
Start your French ombre nails with a coat of gel polish foundation.
Cure your foundation coat.
2. Add your base color
Apply one coat of sheer pink glitter polish, and cure.
Tip: You don’t have to take this coat all the way to the tip of your nail if you don’t want to.
3. Create your French tip
Use white gel polish to paint just the tip of your nail.
Now, cut the corner off a clean dish sponge, and use that corner to lightly dab the white polish on the tip of your nail.
Then add a bit more white polish to your nail tip and dab again with the sponge.
This dabbing technique results in a nail tip that looks quite natural, rather than the defined white tip of a traditional French manicure.
Cure your nail tips.
You can paint and dab your nails as many times as you like, depending on how opaque you want the tip to be.
4. Finish with a top coat
Apply a generous clear gel top coat, going right to the tip and capping the edge.
Cure the top coat.
5. Spritz with alcohol spray
Lightly spray your nails with an alcohol spray.
Then gently wipe your nails with a cotton makeup pad to remove any sticky residue left on your nails.
Here is the final look. This was so easy, but it looks so classic and professional!
