Today, I have a glam waves hair tutorial to show you that is super easy. Follow along as I take you through step by step.

For this tutorial, I’m using a 32mm curling wand, but if your hair is a little bit shorter or finer, you can go in with a smaller wand.

Tools and materials:

  • Parting comb
  • Curling wand
  • Bobby pins
  • Heat protector spray
  • Strong hairspray
  • Hair clip
  • Wide-tooth brush
  • Wide-tooth comb
Parting hair

1. Part hair

First, part your hair with a side parting.

You want the parting to go all the way to the back of your head, and the remaining hair you can split down the center in the back.

2. Curl smaller section

Starting with the side of your parting that has less hair. Clip your hair up so you’re just left with the bottom section.

Take a wide section of hair and wrap it around the wand, not letting go of the ends. You don't need to twist, it'll just twist on its own as your wrap because you're not letting go of the ends.

Then, hold it into place until the outside is too hot to touch. And when it's too hot to touch, that's when you know it's ready to let go

3. Spray hair

When you unwrap your hair from the wand, cup it in your hand, give it a light mist of hairspray, and let go.

4. Curl rest of hair

Repeat, working your way up your hair. Wrap each section of hair away from your face and spray each section after you’ve curled it.

You will be left with soft and fluid waves. Then repeat on the other side of your hair.

Brushing curls

5. Brush curls out

Your hair will now look good as it is, but we’re going to do a glam finish on it.

Depending on how thick your hair is, go in with a wide-tooth comb or brush and brush the waves out.

Parting hair

6. Part hair behind ears

Part your hair on both sides behind your ears to give you a very distinct back section and front section.

Pinning hair

7. Spray back section and pin

Clip up the two front sections so they’re out of the way. Then spray the top of your hair at the back with a strong hairspray.

Take two bobby pins that are the same color as your hair and place them in the shape of an X in your hair.

8. Spray back front sections

Take half-inch sections from the front, brush them back, and spray them with hairspray.

Smooth the hair down so that it covers the bobby pins to conceal them.

9. Spray back other side

Then, slick back the other side. First, pin the back section with bobby pins, as we did on the first side.

Then, repeat the process of taking small sections and slicking them back. The amount of hairspray you use and the strength of the hairspray are going to pretty much determine the quality of your hairstyle.

Combing hair

10. Comb hair back

Go in with a wide-tooth comb at the front to give you a really clean hairline.

Pressing hair down

11. Press hair down

While the hairspray is still moist, squeeze it down and hold it in place until it's completely dry.

This will mean that you don’t have to worry about your hair cracking and separating and falling forward.

If your hairspray is still sticky, you can set it with some cool air.
