Hack to Make Your Braided Bun Look Extra Thick & Full
In this tutorial, Iām going to show you a clever hack for how to make your braided bun look extra thick and full. Follow along as I take you through the steps!

Tools and materials:Ā
- Hair ties
- Hair elastics
1. Tie ponytail and pigtails
You want to start with your hair looking like this - a high ponytail in the middle of your head and two low pigtails at either side.
2. Braid the pigtails
Proceed to braid the pigtails, removing the hair ties that you previously had at the top of them.
3. Tie bun
Next, release your high ponytail. Gather your hair and tie a new ponytail halfway down your head.
When you tie it, donāt pull all the hair through the elastic. Leave the end of your hair hanging out to create a short bun with some hair left loose. Gently tug on the bun to fan it out and make it wider.
4. Twist hair
Take the hair that's hanging below the bun and divide it into two sections. Use your fingers to twist each section of hair.
5. Cross over
Cross those two sides over the top of the bun, still twisting them.
6. Tie together
Then bring them underneath the bun and tie them together.
7. Tie pigtails
Now take the two pigtails, hold them above your head, and tie the ends together.
8. Make a circle
Twist the pigtails to make a circle, as shown.
9. Place around bun
Now bring that circle down and place it around your bun.
10. Pull on braids
Finish by gently pulling on your braids to make them even more voluminous.Ā
