How to Braid in Extra Hair
Clip-in hair extensions are easy to use but you’re limited to how thick each section is.
When you buy bulk hair without any kind of attachment, you have a lot of flexibility in how to use it.
Here are two quick and simple hairstyles I did by braiding extra hair into my own.
Tools and materials:
- No-attachment bulk hair
- Clear hair ties
- Hair grips
- Hairdressing scissors
1. Extra hair
The beauty of these styles is that the hair extensions can be any color.
2. Add a hair tie
Pull out the amount of hair you want to use and slide a clear hair tie into the center.
3. Tie it in
Wrap the hair tie around a section of your own hair and tie it in securely.
4. Braiding
Start braiding, incorporating your own hair into the braid.
Continue the braid diagonally behind your ear until it reaches the length you want.
Braid the other side to match.
5. Trimming
Bring both braids directly in front of you and snip vertically into the hair until both sides are the same length.
6. Another option
Draw your own hair into a ponytail and secure it.
7. Attach the hair
Take some hair from the pack and thread a tie into the center.
Pull your ponytail into the tie and arrange the extra hair over your own.
8. Braiding
Braid your own and the hair extensions together until you have a long enough braid to wrap into a bun.
9. Winding
Wind the braid around the base of the ponytail.
Continue winding the unbraided hair and hold it in place with hair grips.
