I love to recycle vintage items and give them a new lease of life.I am given boxes of cracked crockery and I get so thrilled at old pretty china crockery broken ceramic plates etc is all so great to repurpose.

Old crockery

I find some attractive floral pieces and use wheeled tile nippers for cutting the ceramic. These are easy to use and make cutting china piece of cake! Make sure to wear eye protective goggles to protect against flying china.

I shape some pieces that I think will make great pendants. I then use a small rotary drill with sanding stone attachment. Wearing a face mask to stop dust inhalation.

Sanding

I also drill a small hole using a diamond tipped drill attachment and it needs patience and water to keep the tip cool.

Then it’s just a case of threading a silver bail onto the china pendant and silver chain to creat a stunning one of a kind necklace.

Bail

There are lots of styles of bail and they are readily available online to purchase. I choose one that is right width to fit snugly. I use pliers to squeeze the nail in place .

I Thread silver chain on bail the hey presto! Ready to wear proudly!
