I like to create unique eco friendly and fun jewellery which is easy and quick to make too.

Tagua nut slices are made from non edible palm nuts from Ecuador and incredibly hard and absorb dye easily. They make super earring beads . I chose some purple slices with pre drilled holes.

Tagua slices

I love the rich magenta colour of these slices and the organic wiggly shape. I find my round nosed pliers which make light work of the assembly.

Jump rings

The silver steel jump rings come in many sizes. I chose a large and smaller one which is opened easily by using the round nosed pliers. Thread it through the pre drilled hole and closed tight to prevent it falling off.

Add ear hook

I like to use sterling silver ear hooks to prevent any irritation or allergy. So the ones I’ve chosen are easily fixed on by opening up a little on the base of the hook to fit on the jump ring, then squeezing tight shut again with round nosed pliers until firmly in place.

I repeat this process with the other earring. Don't they look pretty !
