1. Apply a base coat

Use sheer nail polish for this step. Apply two coats and let it dry before you move on to the next step.

Applying white nail polish to a sponge

2. How do you do ombre French tip nails?

Apply sheer nail polish and white nail polish next to each other on a sponge.

Dabbing the nail polish onto nails

Gently dab the sponge on your nails, making sure the white polish is the first line on your nail.

3. Apply top coat

Now, apply your favorite top coat on your nails. This will basically settle the design and give your nail a lovely, sealed-off shine.

Wrapping the tips of nails with nail polish

Don’t forget to wrap the tip of your nail, as shown. This little trick will make your nails last longer.

Cleaning off excess nail polish on the skin

4. Clean the cuticles

Dab an earbud with some acetone, and carefully clean any excess nail polish around your cuticles. It’s best to do this while your nail is semi-wet so that if acetone gets on your nail, it won’t really mess it up.
