How to Get Rid of Strawberry Legs Quick and Easily
Strawberry legs, also known as Keratosis Pilaris, occur when your hair follicles or pores are clogged with dirt, dead skin, bacteria or oil.
Today, I’m going to walk you through my shower routine and by the time we’re done, you’ll have an easy method of how to get smooth legs in just one day!
Tools and materials:
- Body wash
- Body scrub
- Razor
- Conditioner
- Towel
- Moisturizer
- Vitamin E oil
Here is my leg before starting the routine:
1. Cleanse the skin
Set yourself up for a good, clean shave by cleansing the skin.
Choose a body wash that is hydrating and good for sensitive skin. The soap will remove excess oil and build-up, allowing your razor to perform at its best.
2. Exfoliate
This step is essential and not to be skipped! Use a physical exfoliant to get rid of the dead skin cells. Rinse well.
To clarify, you should not use an exfoliant every day. That would be too harsh on your skin, depleting the skin’s barrier which can cause scarring. I only use it before shaving.
3. Apply conditioner
Believe it or not, I prefer conditioner over shaving cream.
It softens the skin and hair, whereas shaving cream can be drying and actually make it harder to shave, especially when dealing with strawberry legs.
4. Shave
Choose a razor with three blades or more.
This will allow for a closer shave without having to drag the razor over one spot over and over to remove the hair (which can irritate or cause strawberry legs).
5. Moisturize with lotion
Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Then apply a hydrating body lotion to your legs until it disappears into the skin.
6. Apply vitamin E oil
I’m obsessed with vitamin E oil!
Apply a generous amount to your legs. This will further lock in the moisture, and it even helps with scarring.
