How to Make Any Lipstick Transfer Proof
Recently a lot of transfer proof lipsticks have come out. But you probably don't want to buy a whole new collection of lipsticks, right?
So I'm going to show you a way to make any lipstick transfer proof in just a couple of minutes.
You'll need a powder sold to set regular make-up, but we're going to use it in a new way.
Best long lasting lipstick!
Tools and materials:
- Lipstick
- Setting powder for make-up
- Tissue
1. Put on your lipstick
Apply your lipstick as normal. As you can see when I press my lips together, this one is pretty runny and not transfer proof at all.
2. Kiss test
And just to prove it, I'm going to press my lips to the back of my hand.
Nope, definitely NOT transfer proof!
3. Old-school hack
Take a 2 or 3 ply tissue and separate one layer of it.
Place the single tissue over your lips.
4. Apply the powder
Use the puff that comes with your powder to pat the powder over the tissue, over your whole lip area.
5. Second kiss test
Remove the tissue and try the kiss test again. There's not a mark on my hand!
6. Water test
But let's take it further and see if your lipstick is waterproof too.
Pour some water over your lips. As you can see, the lipstick doesn't run.
Lipstick hack
Now I wouldn't suggest dabbing or rubbing at your wet lips.
But once it’s dry again, your lipstick will go back to being transfer proof.
I hope you enjoyed this little hack. Let me know in the comments if you try it.
