How to Make Fake Nails With Tissue Paper in 5 Minutes
Hi, everyone. In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make fake nails with tissue paper. This is one of the easiest ways to get DIY fake nails at home when you don’t have any actual materials - and it comes out looking great! Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Fevicol glue
- Tissue paper
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
1. Cut out tissue paper
These DIY fake nails are made entirely with tissue paper, so you’re going to need to cut it to size. Cut out a rectangle that’s about the size of the nail you want, leaving some room for overlap on your own nail.
Make sure the tissue paper you use has multiple layers like this one.
2. Make sure it fits
Test out the tissue paper on your nail to make sure it’s the desired size before you move on.
3. Apply glue to the tissue
Pull back the bottom layer from the tissue paper, and apply Fevicol glue to the surface of both layers.
Make sure it’s evenly coated. Here, I’m using a small paintbrush to spread the glue around.
Press closed.
4. Shape the tissue into a nail
Use the handle of the paintbrush or any other small, rounded tool to add a bit of curve to the tissue, similar to a nail. Then, let the tissue paper dry.
5. Apply glue to the nail
Apply glue to the tip of your nail where you intend to place the tissue.
6. Apply the nail to the glue
Apply the tissue paper nail to the glue, and press down on the surface and the sides to ensure it sticks and shapes nicely to your own nail.
7. Shape
Use scissors to shape the tissue paper into the style of nail you desire.
8. Apply clear nail polish
Apply clear nail polish over the tissue paper and your own nail. Paint both the front and the back of the nail, and then let it dry.
9. Style as usual
Your nail is complete! All you have to do is paint and style it however you'd like, and you’re done.
Here’s the finished nail!
