ESSENTIAL OILS FOR THE SKIN

As I am not an expert on essential oils, I urge you to do your own research and choose oils that are high quality. It’s also important to test any new-to-you essential oils on your skin in a small patch to ensure you don’t have a reaction to them before use.

To scent this body wash, you can choose any combination of essential oils you enjoy! I really love to use peppermint and lemon essential oils because together they offer a great, refreshing scent. Below are some of the best oils for your skin and their benefits, if you’re curious on where to start. You can really use any combination you like, as long as the essential oil is safe to use on your skin! Also keep in mind that citrus oils are photosensitive. If you decide to use a citrus oil in your body wash, cover up or use sunscreen to avoid an increased risk for sunburn!

  • Lavender: Lavender is calming, anti-inflammatory and can help hydrate the skin.
  • Frankincense: Frankincense can be anti-aging and can help with sun damage, wrinkles and skin elasticity.
  • Tea Tree: Tea tree can help those with acne prone and oily skin.
  • Peppermint: Peppermint helps to cleanse the skin and offers a cooling sensation that aids in the reduction of inflammation and irritation.
