Need short hair ideas? In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to pull off space buns with short hair. Just follow along.

Tools and materials:

  • Texturizing spray
  • Hair brush with pointed end
  • Alligator clip
  • Clear hair elastics
  • 2 bobby pins
  • Hair straightener
  • Rhinestones
  • Eyelash glue
Preparing hair

1. Prepare your hair

Spray your hair with texturizing spray for added volume. Then, part your hair down the middle.

2. Section your hair

Grab a front section of hair on one side of your part. Secure the hair on the side of your head with an alligator clip so it won’t interfere.

Then, split the section of hair in two, pulling the front half forward.

3. Make a tiny topsy tail

Next, tie a small ponytail with the hair in the front, using a clear hair elastic.

Make a hole with your fingers below the elastic.

Tuck the end of the ponytail through the hole to make a tiny topsy tail. Now pull the ends to tighten it.

4. Make a second topsy tail

Lift the hair behind your topsy tail and add it to the ends of the first topsy tail, then tie another elastic above it.

Follow the same process as above to make a second topsy tail, pulling it tightly at the end.

Making a bun

5. Make a bun

Make a loop with the remaining tail of hair. Then add one more elastic to create a small bun. Pull the bun carefully to expand it.

Next, twist the remaining tail around the bun’s elastic and secure the end with a bobby pin.

Repeat the same steps to create your second space bun.
