How To Put On Nail Wraps

Nail wraps are an easy way to give yourself a quick manicure. They come in tons of styles including solids and patterns to suit any season, holiday or occasion.

Here's how to put them on for long lasting wear.

To start, pick a pattern. I chose a floral set from Jamberry.

To prep your nails, wipe them off with an alcohol pad and let them dry.

Most wraps come on a sheet in a variety of sizes. Just measure your wrap against your nail to choose a size that fits best. If you can't get a perfect fit, you'll want to go smaller, because the wraps won't stick to your skin or cuticles.

Some nail wraps, including Jamberry, require heat to bond. So once you cut your wrap to fit your nail, give it a quick pass with a hairdryer, on low, to warm it, before sticking it onto your nail. Then using your finger, press down firmly on each wrap to make sure it's in place. Then trim it with a scissor for a close fit and file away any rough edges.

Of course there are very pretty nail wraps that don't use heat. Their application is the same minus the hairdryer.

When all the wraps are on, you can give them another quick pass with the hairdryer to make sure the bond is really secure.

My nail wraps usually last about two solid weeks - about the same as my press on nails manicure - and withstand normal work and play.
