How to Remove Eye Makeup for Mature Eyes
Today, I am going to show you how to remove your eye makeup in the best way.
This is really important as we age because, if we leave anything left behind, the pollutants can stop collagen, and we need collagen to prevent fine lines from appearing, especially around the eye area.
You can see that I’ve got a smokey-eye design, and I’m going to show you how I take it off.
The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.
Tools and materials:
- Eye makeup remover
- Cotton pad
- Eye cream
1. Put makeup remover on cotton pad
Give your eye-makeup remover a shake, take a cotton pad, and pour quite a bit of it on there.
2. Move cotton pad over eye
Put it over your eye quite snugly, then gently push it down and move it around your eye using motions of tiny circles.
Pushing the cotton pad down helps to break down the makeup.
Try not to get anything inside your eye in case you get any kind of irritation.
3. Repeat
Take the cotton pad off of your eye and repeat the process again with another clean cotton pad with an eye-makeup remover on it.
Leave it on the eye to remove any of the makeup that’s there, and then move it around in a circular motion.
4. Wipe under eyes
Wipe underneath the eyes to remove any residue.
Always be very gentle because our skin is very thin around the eye area, especially as we age.
5. Apply eye cream
Once we’ve taken the eye makeup off, we have to moisturize with some eye cream.
Just dab it around the eye and pat it in nicely and gently. The one I’m using is rich, nourishing, it contains some hyaluronic acid, and it smooths the fine lines.
It also has a color-correcting agent in there, which helps reduce any dark circles around the eyes.
How to remove eye makeup
And that is how you can easily and effectively remove your eye makeup.
For those of us with older skin, it’s important that we take care of our skin, and this routine does just that.
I hope you found this technique helpful and you’ll give it a go for yourself!

I was taught to not pull or use hard strokes around the eye area because the eye area is thin skin and delicate. However, you seemed to be making hard, pulling strokes with the pad. But, when finished your eyes looked good. What about that? Should the eye area be treated delicately and with care or not? Thanks for sharing your tutorial.
