I love to create jewellery fro old discarded items and this lot of broken vintage crockery donated to me was just the inspiration I get excited about!

So many gorgeous designs and patterns to choose from. I get using some wheeled tile nippers to cut and shape the ceramic pieces. They are super easy to use and make light work of it. Wearing eye protective goggles to ward off flying china a must.

Wheeled tile nippers

The pieces that are roughly shaped and nibbles with tile nippers are now going to be smoothed and made tactile by sanding. I prefer a carbide stone wheel attachment on a mini rotary hand drill. Remembering face mask to prevent dust inhalation.

Sanding

When enough smoothing and shaping done the pieces can be now made into pendant with a silver bail fitting.so drilling a hole with a diamond tipped drill piece is next step.

Drilling

the tip can be protected by dipping in and out of water to keep it from over heating.

The silver bails are easy to buy on line in variety styles . I choose some that suit the pieces of china and add to the style.

Bails

Round nosed pliers squeeze the bail tightly shut through hole in the ceramic.

Pliers

I thread through a sterling silver snake chain to finish off the pendant. Wow I’m so pleased with result. So vintage pretty.
