Old broken crockery is something that inspires me to re use and create from instead of throwing into landfill.

so many beautiful designs just waiting to be transformed into jewellery that’s so unique and pretty, it can be a way to keep a piece of your family history and tradition too!

Broken crockery

I use wheeled tile nippers to cut the crockery into nice shape and remember to wear protective eye goggles too especially with flying china.

Once you’ve got a piece that’s looking like it will make a nice piece of jewellery it’s time to sand the edges smooth. I wear face mask to stop inhalation of dust and sand it using a rotary drill with wheel grind stone attachment.

Making it smooth

When it’s ready to be transformed into a brooch I use two part epoxy resin glue. Mix with a stick or spoon in an old dish or plate using equal pea size blobs and spread onto the back of brooch pin and ceramic.

Mix epoxy resin

It works fast and within minutes. And careful to not get it on your fingers.

soon within minutes it’s dry. I check it’s secure and wow

I love the super unique brooch pin.
