Super lovely vintage ceramics are wonderful way to repurpose unwanted items. I can see so many transformations in this box of goodies!

Old crockery

Using wheeled tile nippers to create a brooch pin are easy to snap cut and shape and a must is wearing protective eye goggles from flying china is necessary.

Tile nippers

Sanding the raw edges smooth and shaping the brooch is done with a rotary hand drill with stone sanding attachment. Slowly grinding all the way around edges until nice and smooth. This is when you can transform it to a shape you like and make it a tactile keepsake that’s special and so unique .

Sanding

I like to use steel brooch pins that I glue onto the back of the ceramic using two part epoxy resin glue especially for jewellery making.

Epoxy resin glue

Mix both parts in pea size equal quantities mix well and spread onto pin and also back of the ceramic. I usually prepare the surface with sander for a little better adhesion of pin. Hold and position the pin centrally making sure it’s flat and no gaps.

After it’s completely set well and dry in few minutes it’s surely ready to wear proudly.
