I love to work with Equador Palm nut beads called Tagua nuts as they are a non edible fruit and make very durable tactile beads that are cut. dyed into beautiful rainbow colours!

Tagua beads

The Tagua nut beads are pre drilled which means easy assemble and so simple to create some unique pieces of jewellery from. I love this chunky bright blue smooth nut and find a sterling silver bail to attach the chain to.

Tagua and bail

I use round nosed pliers which make the fastening job so simple. I begin to squeeze the little prongs snuggly into the hole. A gentle pressure makes it secure. Always I try not to indent and mark the bail with the pliers if I can help it.

Bail secured

Next it’s time to simply thread through the bail the choice of chain . I prefer a sterling silver snake chain in ten inch.

Once it is through ready to wear! So east and versatile stylish and eco friendly!

I so love the idea of various colours choices in this style that then can fit any occasion or outfit! Have fun making and creating your own versions!
