Make the first necklace

As I mentioned, you will need three necklaces for this DIY ribbon necklace. The gold chain is one necklace on its own; so, go ahead and start beading two separate necklaces with beads of your choice.

Make a ribbon necklace

Unspool your wire and string your beads. Don't pre-cut your wire until you're done.

How to make a ribbon necklace

Put a crimping bead at the end of the necklace and a jump ring, too.

Then, bend the wire around the jump ring and put it through your crimping bead.

Simple ribbon necklace

Take your long nose pliers and crimp the bead in place. Then, push your beads from the other side so that they sit nice and tight. The necklace should be around 16 inches in length.

Now, take another split ring, open it up and insert a lobster clasp through. Tighten the ring after with your long nose plier.

Cut the other end of the necklace, so you have enough wire to loop. Then, insert your crimping bead and the jump ring with the lobster clasp.

Loop it the same way as mentioned earlier.

If you have excess wire, be sure to pull it down as much as possible through the crimping bead. This will ensure your necklace has no gaps. Then, crimp the bead to secure it in place.

Cut the excess wire and slip it through the beads so that it doesn’t stick out and poke you.

Make the second necklace

Just like the first necklace, go ahead and make the second necklace. The process is the same, wire, string the beads, add the crimping beads, and jump rings. When you're done, you can skip to the third step.

Add the ribbon

Connect all three necklaces, respectively.

Then, cut your ribbon, so you have two pieces that measure 31 inches in length. Burn the ends of each ribbon with a lighter to prevent fraying.

Put your necklaces together, so you have a cute, layered look. The clasps should all be on one side.

Fold your ribbon in half and put it through the three necklaces as shown. Make a little loop for the two ends of the ribbon to go through.

Repeat the same on the other side.
