Want to soothe your skin and relax your senses all at the same time? This oatmeal milk bath with lavender is just what you need. Layers of ground oats and powdered milk, along with sea salt and lavender make the perfect DIY milk bath for bedtime soaking.

Just a quick note about milk baths! You really should take a very quick, light rinse in cool water after a milk bath.

Milk residue can be a bit sticky on the skin if left there after your milk bath.

Don’t use soap and don’t make the water too hot or you will strip away the natural oils in your skin.

Start with whole oats, not the quick-cooking kind. You will need a grinder or food processor to turn them into oat powder. It will only take a few seconds! Oatmeal has wonderful soothing properties and is great for dry skin.

Layering this bath milk is incredibly easy. Just scoop each layer into a decorative jar with a spoon. Try not to shake it to level the layers. This has a tendency to just mix things up rather than level them off.

If you are in a hurry, skip the layering step and just mix everything together in a bowl. It will last several weeks at room temperature so plan lots of baths and enjoy!
