How to Style the Camouflage Trend

I remember the first time I had to wear camouflage. I was teaching school and they had camouflage dress up day. Someone let me use a pair of camouflage pants and I just knew that I was not going to drab them down. I looked in my closet, pulled out the cutest black top and black heels and that was what I wore. Everyone laughed and said they could not believe that I would even try to dress up camo, but I sure did!

Since camouflage has become a hot print, I have decided to incorporate it into my wardrobe. I have incorporated it in many different ways and even accented it with different colors. Yes, I like to use the neutrals, white, black, camel, but I also like to toss in an accent color. I like red and even pink the most. I have seen other colors put together with camouflage and they all seem to look good. I am beginning to think that camouflage is becoming the new animal print! With this being said, I wanted to go over three different ways I have styled camouflage so that you can get inspired to add it to your wardrobe.

Here I have on my favorite camouflage skinny jeans. I got these at Old Navy and I don’t think they have them any more. These are so comfy and fit so well. However, I have linked similar styles below. I have these styled with a red cardigan, shoes and a silky cami. I think the red is the perfect accent and in my opinion this cardigan dresses up the camouflage pants.

Next I have a fun camouflage tee shirt dress. These are seen everywhere and they are fantastic. The ones I have seen and that I have are super comfy and perfect to just toss on and go. I like to style them with a denim jacket and my adidas tennis shoes. This look to me is not just casual, but can also be the perfect outfit for running errands in. Such a fun and carefree look!

Lastly, I have styled the camouflage jacket with skinny jeans. You can wear the distressed or the plain ones, either style will work. I have added a striped tee and black booties. However, you can add a graphic tee or brown, tan or even grey booties. This could also be the perfect opportunity to toss in some color. You could wear a colored tee, like red, and then accessorize in the same color. Anything goes when it comes to camouflage.

These are my three favorite looks when styling camouflage. I am sure there are other ways to style it and other pieces of camouflage clothing, but I love these. Basically the sky is the limit with camouflage. So don’t be afraid to get some and add it in to your wardrobe. It might just become your new favorite neutral!
