Using eye drops for tired eyes

1. Use eye drops as necessary

Don’t do this every day, but, when necessary, use eye drops to remove any redness from your eyes.

Applying a light shimmery eyeshadow

2. Eyeshadow to brighten your eyes

Choose an eyeshadow shade that is lighter than your skin tone, and preferably one with a little bit of shimmer. Apply the light shadow all over your eyelid right up to the arch of your eyebrow.

Applying the eyeshadow to the lower lash line

You can even apply a little light eyeshadow along your lower lash line.

Applying a glossy black eyeliner

3. Eyeliner for definition

Line your upper lash line with a glossy black liquid eyeliner. Extend the liner to create a very small wing at the outside corner of your eye.

Don’t use the eyeliner on the inner corners of your eyelid because that actually makes your eyes look more tired.

Lining the upper waterline

Now use a long-wear waterproof eyeliner to line your upper waterline.

Applying nude eyeliner to the lower waterline

Finally, line your lower waterline with a nude waterproof eyeliner. When your eyes are tired, the lower waterline can get pink or red, so the nude eyeliner will mask that.

Curling eyelashes with an eyelash curler

4. Lift your lashes

Curl your upper lashes to lift the look of your eyes.

Applying tubing mascara

Then use a tubing mascara on your lashes. A tubing mascara coats your lashes with a film that dries as little tubes on your lashes and won’t come off easily. Tubing mascara is also generally good for sensitive eyes.

5. Under-eye brightener

Apply an eye brightening concealer to the area below your eye, especially at the inner corner where tired shadows are more prominent.

Blending concealer with a brush

Use a concealer brush to blend the concealer.
