Don’t let your wrinkles define your age! What ages your face has more to do with the loss of color definition from your features than with wrinkles.

The good news is that with the right makeup application you can easily restore that color.

So, follow along with these makeup tips for older women to learn how to bring the color back to your eyes, lips, and cheeks, and look younger.

Tools and materials:

  • Your regular makeup
  • Shimmery liquid eyeshadow
  • Cream blush
  • Bright lipstick
  • Assorted makeup brushes

I'm using makeup from   Look Fabulous Forever, which is specially designed for older skin, but you can replicate the same techniques with your own preferred products.

Appling shimmery liquid eyeshadow

1. Start with your eyes

Go ahead and start with your regular eye makeup routine. Now, add a little shimmery liquid eyeshadow to your lid, on top of your regular eyeshadow, starting at the inner corner and pulling it across your lid.

Use a small, angled makeup brush to blend it in. What a beautiful pop of brightness, while still remaining subtle and soft!

2. Color your cheeks

Use a cream blusher and pat it into your cheeks starting on your cheekbone below the center of your eye. Pat it up your cheekbone towards your hairline.

Continue to build up the color as you feel appropriate. Remember that you can use a brush to blend it and also to remove color if you think you’ve used a bit too much.

3. Onto your lips

The key to adding color to your lips is this: rather than going soft, choose a bright lipstick like the fuchsia I’m using in this tutorial.

A bright lipstick doesn’t only add color to your lips, it brightens your whole face.

Apply the lipstick to your lips using a brush.

Now you understand that it’s the lack of color and definition that ages your face, not the wrinkles, and that makeup does a brilliant job of correcting that lack of definition.
