I’m 75 and my skin has lost a lot of vibrance.

Without definition to my eyes, lips and cheeks, I definitely look washed out before applying any makeup and I look older than I feel.

In this makeup tutorial for mature skin, I’ll show you a simple, 5 minute routine that will add color and luminosity to your skin.

The makeup I'm using today is from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of makeup.

Tools and materials:

  • Blue eyeshadow palette
  • Eyeshadow brush
  • Eyeliner wedge brush
  • Mascara
  • Blush
  • Blush brush
  • Lipstick

1. Add a pale blue base to your eyes

Start by sweeping a pale blue color over your mobile eyelids.

2. Line your eyes with a vibrant blue

Next, using a small, wedge brush, line your upper lashes with a punchier blue color.

You may use a cotton round to pick up any eyeshadow that falls from the brush.

Lining eyes

Use the flat part of the wedge to apply it slightly thicker than you would for strictly a lash line.

This way, you’ll be adding more color to your lids in a tasteful way.

Lining eyes

Repeat on your other eye.

3. Apply mascara

If you just do one thing for your eyes, I suggest applying mascara!

If you’re short on time, mascara makes a massive difference to how your eyes look.

4. Apply blush

For more color, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, sweeping the color up to the outer edge of your face.

I love how the moment you apply blush it brightens up the face!

5. Apply lipstick

Apply your favorite shade of lipstick that works with your skin tone. I’ve chosen a shade of fuchsia to match my top.
