Hi there, Julie here again from Look Fabulous Forever.

Today I am going to show you my everyday makeup look, focusing on mature eye makeup. I quite like to look like I am wearing makeup but have tried to keep today’s look more natural by blending together green and brown shades.

The makeup I’m using is from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of makeup. Let's get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Eyeshadow
  • Highlighter
  • Eyebrow pen
  • Mascara
  • Makeup brushes
Face makeup applied

I have already applied makeup to my face, so do this as you normally would, and let’s get started with our easy eye makeup tutorial.

Applying light color to lids

1. Brush a light shade on the lower lids

I am going to use a light color on my lids today. I am starting with this gorgeous soft olive color and applying it to my bottom lids.

Applying medium shade to crease

2. Apply a medium shade to your crease

I am then going in with a taupe shade. I love taupe, it’s a color that anyone can wear.

I apply the taupe shade just above the olive shade but this time I am going to place a tissue on the outer edge of my eye to create a clean solid line.

Starting with your brush on the tissue, brush the color in and over your crease.

Applying taupe shade to socket

You only want to apply the taupe shade to the socket area to create depth.

Using dark shade as liner

3. Line your bottom lashes

I am going to use a darker shade for the liner. I have chosen this lovely plum-based chocolate color.

Lining eye

Using an angled brush, line the bottom of your eye.

Darkening outer edge

4. Darken the outer edge of your bottom lid

Then you are going to brush that chocolate shade onto the outer edge of your bottom lid.

Doing other eye

5. Repeat the above steps on your other eye

Adding highlight

6. Highlight

Apply a highlighter in an arc around your eyes.

This will soften the areas and capture the light, creating the appearance of lifted eyelids. Use your fingers to blend it in.

Adding highlight

7. Apply highlighter to your brow bones

You also want to apply your highlighter on your brow bones.

I am not using anything shiny or glittery, we just want to subtly illuminate this area.

Darkening the brows

8. Darken your eyebrows

Now it’s time to darken your eyebrows. Start in the middle of the brow.

Pushing color out

And push the color to the outer edge.

Darkening brows

Then darken the inner edge of your brows with short upwards strokes.

Testing strokes on hand

Tip: If you are not used to applying color to your eyebrows, test your strokes on the back of your hand to learn the technique. You want to get used to making short strokes.

Brushing brows

Use a spoolie brush over your eyebrows to soften the color.

Applying mascara

9. Apply mascara
