Mimi G Tiffany Jumpsuit Review

The Tiffany Jumpsuit was all the things I wanted for easy Summer comfort wear. I tried to find the pattern everywhere but came up empty. I was still fairly new to the PDF sewing pattern world back in 2017 so I didn’t know how to get it. Little did I know it was only available to those signed up for Mimi G’s Sewit Accademy. I believe all her PDF patterns are available to everyone enrolled in her Sewit Accademy. If you are new to apparel sewing and aren’t super familiar with Mimi G, do check her out. On July 20th of 2020 Mimi G made my summer comfort dreams come true and released the Tiffany Jumpsuit PDF pattern to everyone via her website. Now, I usually only purchase PDF patterns when they are on sale because they are more expensive than commercial patterns. However I had been searching for this pattern for so long that I paid the full $12 and bought it that same day. I made two versions in less than 24 hours. Needless to say, I love this pattern.

My measurements put me between a size 8 and 10. I decided on a 10 because I didn’t want to have trouble getting it on over my hips. The size 10 was perfect and very true to size. Sometimes patterns have a lot of ease and you need to size down. You want to have a lot of ease with this pattern. If you’re in between sizes, I would size up. I used a Cotton blend and a Rayon blend woven for my first two makes. I plan on making a knit one too as soon as I can find some good knit. I wouldn’t try knit yet if you are a beginner tho. Definitely stick with the more stable fabrics first.

This pattern is classified as beginner and it is very much that. Having some basic sewing knowledge will be beneficial but not necessary. It has a interfaced V-neck front and back that requires facing which can be a tad tricky for beginners. The V-necks make the jumpsuit easy to pull on without the need to install a zipper or button closure. It also has a pocket option which are easy to install but a beginner would need to pay close attention to what they are doing if they have never done pockets before. Mimi has pictures in the instructions to help.

I am 5’5″ and prefer a cropped look on almost everything. The Tiffany Jumpsuit was the perfect length for me. I love the wide leg, loose fit of the jumpsuit. Also, because the legs aren’t tapered, it’s easy to take off some length if needed. This would be super cute as shorts and make an awesome swimsuit cover-up for the pool or beach.

I love the V-neck front and the lower V-neck back. It’s a super cute design detail and makes it functional. It’s so easy to pull on and off! Not to mention, V-necks are just plain cute.

I highly recommend this pattern for anyone who just wants an easy sewing project that will be perfect for Summer and Fall. I’ve worn my lighter colored one probably 8 times since I made it in July. I feel like it can be dressed up or down and is perfect for those days you want to look cute but remain comfortable.

I have followed Mimi G on YouTube for years and have loved her makes. However I am ashamed to say this is my first actual pattern make of hers! I’m converted and plan to make more. I’m thinking of the Jasika overalls in some wine colored corduroy next.
