My Nighttime Skin Scrub Recipe
I love using homemade scrubs on my skin. I usually use them at night so my freshly exfoliated skin isn’t exposed to UV rays and dust in the atmosphere.
We eat a lot of rice so there’s usually some cooked rice around somewhere. This scrub will keep for up to 4 days in the refrigerator and doesn’t freeze well.
Tools and materials:
- Large spoonful of cooked white rice
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- Water
- Mixing spoon
- Small bowl
1. Rice
Place a large spoonful of cooked rice in a small bowl.
Add some water and blend well until it makes a thick paste.
2. Sugar
Add a tablespoon of granulated sugar and mix well.
3. Apply
The scrub should be soft but not too runny. You want it to stay on your skin.
Use your fingertips to apply it all over your face, excluding your eyes and lips, in a circular motion.
Scrub gently using the pads of your fingers for up to 10 minutes, but don’t rub too hard.
Wash off gently with lukewarm water and pat dry.
My nighttime skin scrub recipe
Cooked rice is full of essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help to brighten, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin. It’s a skin care staple in India and southeast Asia.
Remember to apply your night cream or serum after the scrub.
