Natural Shave Butter
How to make a whipped shave butter that lathers. This gives you a close shave and soft and smooth legs after shaving. It has melt and pour soap in it so it lathers.
I used coconut oil in this shave butter, which is very moisturizing for your skin. It does have water in it, so you need a preservative. If you omit the preservative, you will need to store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Learn more about preservatives and Geoguard ETC in my shaving butter that lathers post.
You will need:
- 1 ounce melt and pour soap
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 24 drops Geoguard ECT
- 8 drops cypress essential oil
- 12 drops Head Soothing essential oil
Use a double boiler to heat the soap and water until the soap is melted. Be careful not to let it get hot enough to bubble. When the soap is melted, carefully remove from heat and let cool until the soap starts to gel. Add the Geoguard ECT once it's cool.
In a separate bowl, add the coconut oil and essential oils. Use a hand mixer to whip until creamy. Slowly add the cooled soap as you keep whipping. It will start to turn into a butter.
To use, scoop out about a tablespoon and spread on your skin. Then shave and keep applying more as needed.
