How to DIY a Cute No-clasp Necklace in 5 Minutes
I love it when there is no-clasp to a necklace because it makes life so much easier.
In fact, this no-clasp necklace that I’m about to show you can be made in less than 5 minutes (not even exaggerating)!
So, whether you are a new jewelry maker, or you want to add another tool in your tool box for jewelry making tips and tricks, this tutorial is for you!
Tools and materials:
- Round nose pliers
- Long nose pliers
- Cutter tools
- Green real stone bead
- Small chain (18 inches)
- 1 metal circle
- 1 jump ring
- 1 head pin
1. Make a loop in your stone or bead
Put the head pin through the hole of the stone or bead.
It’s too much wire, so cut off the excess with your cutting tool to make the smallest loop possible without affecting the integrity of the loop.
The smaller the loop, the less likely it is to open up or get caught on something.
Once you’ve cut the wire, grab your round nose pliers and bend it at a 90 degree angle.
To make the smallest loop possible, grab the wire with the round nose pliers as close to the end of the pliers as possible.
Curl the wire around the thinnest part.
Then let go, grabbing it a second time down below and bend again to finish the loop shape.
Here’s the loop:
2. Add the chain and metal circle
Cut your chain to suit the size of the person who will wear the necklace. Someone tall will need a longer necklace.
I cut 18” for a larger one. Open up a small jump ring using 2 pliers:
Add your metal circle.
Then, attach the jump ring to one side of the chain.
Next, close the jump ring.
3. Attach the pendant
Open up the loop that you made on the pendant.
Then attach the other side of the chain to the opened loop.
Next, close up the loop with the help of your round nose pliers, making sure there is no gap.
That’s it! Now you have a gorgeous, no-clasp necklace that takes under 5 minutes to make.
