Avoid Cakey Makeup With This Easy One Layer Makeup Tutorial
I’m so sick of cakey makeup looks! So lately I’ve been using this one layer makeup technique and I’m obsessed!
Follow along and learn just how I achieve this genius, one layer makeup look.
Tools and materials:
- Cream concealer
- Cream foundation
- Cream contour
- Cream blush
- Cream bronzer
- Setting mist
- Makeup brush
1. Apply all cream products simultaneously
All at once, apply your cream-based products.
In other words, apply these as you normally would, but without blending them in between each component.
2. Use a setting mist
The key is to use a setting mist as this stops the products from drying out so you can blend them.
So, once all your makeup is in place, apply a generous amount of setting mist while protecting your eyes with your hand.
3. Blend products from lightest to darkest
After applying the mist, start by blending the lightest shade of product that you applied.
Next up, move on to blending your foundation.
After that, blend in the blush, bronzer and contour.
Along the way, feel free to mist your face as you go to maintain the dampness.
This technique ends up being a single layer of makeup, with each element sitting only where you need it.
One layer makeup look
My typical makeup application would involve 5 or 6 layers of products, and the end result just wouldn’t be this light or smooth.
With this one layer makeup technique, I can wear everything and it feels and looks flawless!
