Introduction

Here’s how to wear a great woman’s tweed jacket in four very different ways. I LOVE THIS JACKET!!! It’s so sharp and classy and versatile. Pro-tip: When I purchase a basic piece such as this blue boucle tweed jacket, I need to know before I do so, that it’s going to be a useful addition to my wardrobe. To make that happen, I carefully think of at least three ways I could style it. I might see how it’s styled online, as well as how my favorite (ahem) blogger would style it. Or I might look on Pinterest for the item in a search. Hopefully, this post will convince you that this jacket needs to become yours as well…

Outfit Number One (of the Women’s Tweed Jacket)

Here is my woman’s short jacket styled in a somewhat French way. I layered the jacket over a classic navy and cream striped J Crew tee with a long strand of pearls as well. I wore my favorite Wit and Wisdom dark wash skinny jeans, as well as leopard D’orsay pumps to continue the lady-like vibe. My purse is a lovely and substantial crossbody bag by Paricia Nash. It’s a great shade of brown and it holds my lipstick, credit cards, phone, and sunglasses.

Check out the details on my ladies’ tweed jacket. There is fringe along the cuff as well as the lapels and there are several silver zippers and snaps along the pockets and front of the spring jacket. The jacket can be worn open as you see above or zipped up.

The weight of this woman’s spring jacket is fairly substantial. It feels like the weight of a leather jacket. I was surprised at first by this. But then I realized that I would wear this in the late winter (see outfit number four) where I would enjoy the body of this piece. I would also wear it over my shoulders (see outfit three) over a tee for a warmer day. I also find that in my California town that gets really hot, the air conditioning can be frigid, so I think the weight would work as-is.

I purchased mine in a size medium. I usually wear a small, but the sleeves were a bit narrow above the elbow. By upsizing, the problem was avoided.

Outfit Number Two (of the Women’s Tweed Jacket)

Here is the women’s blue tweed jacket worn for spring maybe to lunch with friends. I wore a white cotton @ Evereve tank under the jacket. My pants were white slim jeans from Talbots. Slim pants are definitely all the rage this year and I like how they stop above my ankle. Pro-Tip: For most of us, our wrists and ankles are the smallest, daintiest points. Thus, wearing our pants to show off our ankles can be really flattering especially when paired with nude square-toed sandals ( similar, here). Another trend this year is this square toe shape to shoes.

The above photo really shows off the details of the jacket. Check out the rivets on the cuff along with the fringe. My Kendra Scott necklace was a Valentine’s day gift from Mr. G.Q.! I love that it’s a layered necklace that comes in gold and silver finishes. Aren’t my white sunglasses fun? They are such a deal! Lastly, my tan woven handbag says, “Spring” and I was glad to add it to my ensemble.

Outfit Number Three (of the Women’s Tweed Jacket)

Isn’t it especially fun and unexpected to pair a woman’s cropped tweed jacket with a graphic tee? I couldn’t resist because I love to juxtapose dressy pieces with playful casual items. Here I paired slightly distressed straight leg jeans ( similar, here) with an old (similar, here) graphic tee. Again I wore the l eopard pumps which because of the block heel, are very comfortable. For jewelry, I added pretty “diamond” stud earrings as well as a pearl bracelet, and my trusty stainless steel Ebel watch. Lastly, I wore my Oakley sunnies as a final detail.

Outfit Number Four (of the Women’s Spring Jacket)

When my friend, Irena came to town recently it was quite cool. So I changed things up by wearing the jacke t with a classic ribbed black J McLaughlin turtleneck along with black knit pants. Again I wore the silver Kendra Scott necklace as seen in outfit two. Pro-Tip: Statement necklaces are again back in style this season. I never stopped them entirely as I love how either a statement necklace or a scarf can really complete a look. That said, now statement necklaces such as this one look lovely filling in a neckline or against a solid turtleneck (as below).

Two more details worth mentioning: My bag is a classic Kate Spade pebbled leather doctor’s tote. Pro-Tip: I am always drawn to pebbled leather as it doesn’t easily show scratches and it wears so well. Lastly, my Rag and Bones gray suede booties have been a great addition to my wardrobe this winter season. I love suede because it’s so soft on my feet. The gray color has been much more versatile and a bit lighter in look than black suede which is useful at this transition to springtime.

Conclusion:

So have I convinced you to get this darling blue spring tweed jacket? I think you won’t be sorry if you do. I have already worn it to five very different venues all to rave reviews. This piece will definitely carry you from late winter through spring.

Happy almost Spring!
