Cold Weather Outfit Ideas

We have to talk about cashmere.

If you’re joining the capsule wardrobe brigade, you’ve probably been making changes to your shopping habits and opting for quality over quantity, with a focus on clothing items that can be styled several different ways with nearly everything you own. There’s no denying a cashmere jumper ticks all of these boxes and best of all, it will keep you insanely warm and snuggly.

My favourite jumper is my cream cashmere jumper. A neutral colour is great because it can be styled so many ways. Here I’ve worn it underneath a wrap coat from Ted Baker, which is also a cashmere blend, and flatters so many figures because that waist belt cinches you in and gives you the beautiful hourglass shape so many of us desire. I’ve gone all out and worn my cashmere scarf on top!

Hats are such an underrated fashion accessory and they have the added bonus of keeping you warm. Channel Emily in Paris with a wool beret or look extra stylish in a fedora. (Wouldn’t a camel fedora look absolutely stunning with that wrap coat?) But even more underrated are a pair of earmuffs, which not only look glamorous but also keep your hair from getting messed up!

A final style tip for the cold weather is to treat yourself to a pair of over the knee boots. These can be worn in so many different ways and add an extra layer of warmth whether you pair them with a skirt or trousers (and if you want to be extra snuggly, wear a couple of pairs of tights underneath). Get a pair with a low block heel and you’ll be able to wear them all day!
