5 DIY Pretty Little Liars Halloween Costumes

Today, I’m going to be showing you some awesome Pretty Little Liars Halloween costumes. Each character has a very different style, but they each look seriously cute every single episode. I decided to wear their outfits for a week and I’m going to show you some of my favorite looks.
1. Emily’s dance number
Emily has a casual, cool girl aesthetic which makes most of her outfits easy to create. As long as you have some distressed denim sneakers and a slouchy tee, you’re good to go.
I went with this outfit because it's a bit of a step up from her basic outfit, and I already had most of the pieces ready to go in my closet.
The only thing I went out and bought was this muscle tank singlet that says, "Reality is wrong, dreams are for real."
I’m not planning on doing any dancing today, but this is an easy outfit for hanging around the house and doing some chores.
2. Casual Aria look
Aria has a very unique, edgy, and eclectic look which is probably closest to my own style, but it makes her outfits some of the hardest to recreate.
Trust me, I wanted to include more of her outfits but trying to find a brown pleated leather mini skirt or a skirt made entirely out of men's ties or even a skull print blazer was just not happening. You'll often see her pattern mixing with no abandon and throwing pops of color in when you'd least expect it.
So this look is actually pretty tame for her. My recreation has more color than hers with this skirt that I usually never wear.
Bonus outfit
While editing, I realized that the outfit I chose was actually a Lucy Hale outfit, the actress who plays Aria, and wasn’t actually in the show. So I picked a different outfit!
For this look, I had the blazer, the belt, and the shoes but I didn’t have the dress. I ended up refashioning a dress I bought off of eBay by cutting off the sleeves and cutting some slits up the sides of the dress.
It’s pretty similar to Aria’s, except for the print which can be a bit of an issue. Aria is edgy and cool but still has a touch of class. My version of this outfit comes off a bit conservative. What do you guys think? Is there anything I can do to the dress to make it more edgy and cool?
3. Spencer’s workplace attire
This was the first day of my working week, so I looked for workplace-appropriate outfits. Spencer probably has the most work-like attire in the show but despite liking Oxford shoes she's probably least like my style.
She is what I'd describe as vintage preppy and often pulls inspiration from menswear ensembles. Today's outfit is one of her more feminine looks. Our love of Oxfords is probably the only thing that unites us, so of course, I had to choose an outfit with them in it.
My dress is probably the least similar piece in this outfit but with the blazer on I think I still give out Spencer Hastings vibes. What do you think?
4. Hana’s feminine glam
Now, remember how I said Aria's looks were hard to recreate? Well, Hanna's outfits aren't that much easier. Her looks are also very unique but in a much more feminine, glam way. Hello, pink satin bomber jackets and white studded stilettos!
So, my recreations aren't spot on. I'm warning you now. But I think I've captured her general mood and aesthetic.
Today's outfit: A plaid coat, white lace top with a black mini skirt, and a pop of color yellow belt. I wasn't sure which shoes she wore with this outfit, but I decided to chuck on my black patent-leather pointy-toe stilettos.
5. Alison’s iconic red coat
To finish off my week of wearing Pretty Little Liars outfits I felt like I had to don a red coat. My red coat is a bit different from the one on the show, but it gets the overall look across. Worn with all-black clothing and accessories it's not a hard look to recreate.
But I just wasn't sure what was under the red coat. I decided to go with a plain black tee. Now if only I had pretty long blonde locks to style in perfect curls.
