8 Easy Steps to DIYing These Sexy Red Nails for Christmas
Just in time for Christmas, I’m going to show you in this step-by-step tutorial how to do your own, sexy red nails. Follow along to see how I create these simple, red and white Christmas nails. Let's get started.
Tools and materials:
- Anti-yellowing basecoat
- Red nail polish
- Black nail polish
- White nail polish
- Gray nail polish
- Gray glitter nail polish
- Clear nail polish
- Stripping tape
- Tweezers
- Cleaning brush
- Acetone
- Nail dotting tool
1. Apply base coat
Paint a thin layer of anti-yellowing base coat on all your nails.
2. Apply red nail polish
Paint the entire nails red (since the other details will be painted on top). Let the red polish dry completely.
3. Add stripping tape
Cut the stripping tape and stick two pieces diagonally to each of the nails.
4. Apply black nail polish
Next, paint a black stripe between the stripping tape on the nails. You might need more than one coat to get a solid black line.
5. Apply the gray nail polish
Remove the top piece of stripping tape. Then paint the gray polish under the other piece of stripping tape.
6. Apply the glitter nail polish
Take the other piece of stripping tape off the nails and let the gray polish dry.
Then, paint on the glitter polish carefully on top of the gray, making sure it doesn’t go over the black stripe.
7. Add white dots
Using your nail dotting tool and white polish, paint dots along the black stripes.
8. Apply topcoat
After letting the dots dry completely, paint a clear, topcoat on all of your nails.
Now you’re ready to show off your red Christmas nails!
