Applying highlighter

1. Apply highlighter

Apply highlighter down the center of your nose and across the forehead, under the eyes, the center of the chin and under your cheekbones.

2. Apply contour

Apply a darker color around the temples, down the bridges of your nose, at the cheekbones, around the jawline and either side of the chin.

3. Use foundation

With your buffing brush and foundation, work the light colors into your skin in circular motions, blending all the edges.

Next, work in the darker shades. If you have smaller lips, you can mute them out with the foundation and draw them on over your natural lip later.

4. Set the foundation

Use any setting powder and a new brush to set the foundation.

5. Enhance your eyebrows

Fill in your brows with brow powder using a small, angled brush. If you want to create theatrical, sexy vampire makeup, you can even go black.

To modernize the brows, pull whatever is left on the brush to the front for an ombre look.

6. Add black and red eyeshadow

Using a folded paper towel, flat eyeshadow brush and black eyeshadow, make a defined wing.

Applying eyeshadow

Then blur the edge by gently dabbing the shadow with the brush, all the way across each lid. The goal is for a very opaque black, so pack it on and reapply as needed.

Applying eyeshadow

Add a red shadow using a fluffy brush. Apply it to the socket line, then gently blend it with just the edge of the black.

Applying eyeshadow

With the red that’s left on the brush, pull the color forward just a bit, towards the corner.

Just above the brow bone, go over it with the leftover red for a pinkish color to give more dimension to the brow.

7. Add gel liner

Line the waterline (bottom lashes) and the tightline (top lashes). Then use a small brush dipped in black eyeshadow to smudge it under the lower lashes.

8. Highlight under the brow

Use a highlighter pencil just below the brows. Then, with a synthetic angled brush, draw the highlight down to meet the eyeshadow.

You may need to clean the brush as you go if you pick up some of the color from below.

9. Apply black liner to upper lids

Add black gel liner to the upper lids. Focus it at the corners to enhance the wing shape.

10. Thicken your lashes

Apply one coat of black mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Once dry, add another coat.

11. Apply blush

Using both pink and red, use your blush brush in circular motions to create a halo, which is a C shape from your temple to your cheekbone. Repeat for each side.

12. Create an ombre lip

With a dark purple lip pencil, draw the perimeter of the top lip as well as the corners of the bottom lip, about ⅔ of the way down on both sides.

Lining lips

Next, using a red lip pencil, fill in the “Cupid’s Bow” section of the upper lip and the base of the bottom lip, filling in the center.

Filling in lips

Next to the red, fill in a bit more with the dark purple, feathering the purple into the red.

Now use your black gel liner right on the outer corners of the lips. Feather the black into the purple.

13. Enhance the lip color with lipstick

With a small brush go over each portion of the lips with their corresponding color from a lipstick palette. Blend the seams as you go.

Be careful not to overdo the black, because that will ruin the ombre transition. Once happy with the dark shades, apply a pop of the red at the center of the lip.

14. Add false lashes (optional)

Glue the lashes on carefully, never fully closing your eyes.

15. Add brown to cheekbones

Using a tapered blush brush, add brown underneath the pink/red from earlier. You can opt for black if you want the cheeks to look really sucked in.

16. Add blood

Using a makeup spatula, add theatrical blood to the corners of your eye for fake blood-tears. Be careful not to get it in your eyes.

Adding blood to face

Use a tissue to dab the fake blood on the sides of your mouth. Then, use your finger to blend just the edges of it.

Then, taking care not to get it in your mouth, use the spatula to drip some blood from the corners of your mouth.

Finally, pop in your fangs, and you’re done!
