Black Stappy Flat Tutorial - One CrafDIY Girl

DIY Strappy Black Flat

With uses both casual and professional, this romantic style has frequented storefronts all summer. I found these flats sadly tucked in the land of forgotten shoes, which, as for most, is underneath my bed. Used once for an interview with a boring, black suit, I figured they deserved a second life. On my way out the door, I felt my outfit was missing some delicate details. Luckily, this DIY was quick and rewarding – Up-cycling shoes is not only budget-friendly, but it also can take the work out of breaking in a beautiful shoe, making more happy days together.

Materials

Black flats

3 yards of elastic cording

Needle

STEP 1: First, cut your elastic cording in half, so you will have two 1.5 yard pieces.

STEP 2: Using a needle, poke a hole in the desired area. Widen the hole with scissors by twisting lightly.

STEP 3: Pinch sides together to ensure an even lace.

Pairs well with red lipstick, autumn strolls, and posing in your empty apartment.

Good idea for upgrading the flats. It's hard to see in the 'after' picture - did you tie them on the arch or make knots in the cord to make it fixed?

Can you submit a clearer "after" pic? I would love to clearly see them finished.
