You guys will not even believe how easy it is to cut up thrifted jeans for your new favorite skirt.

Jeans are great but on a hot summer day, it’s easier to stay cool in a short skirt.

If you have an old pair of jeans you can use those. If not, grab a pair of jeans from your local thrift store.

Tools and materials:

Cutting

1. Cut

Lay your jeans flat and mark the length you want for your skirt. Then cut off the rest.

Opening seam

2. Open seam

Cut open the crotch seam and lay the jeans flat again, this time folding them along the edge of the zipper.

Trimming

3. Trim

Trim and cut off the excess from the crotch area so that the seams will be straight all around.

Sewing

4. Sew

Sew the cut edges. First, sew a zigzag stitch along the exposed edges of the inner seams to prevent fraying.

Then sew the edges together and you have an adorable mini skirt.
