I'm so excited to welcome in the Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere and I've made the perfect transitional skirt. Read on for all the making and styling tips to wear this two ways!!

So the pattern is based on this McCalls M7631 but I've had this for a while and its now re-issued under a new reference M8068 you can find the pattern for sale here > McCalls Sewing Pattern 8068 | 1237574 | Minerva

The fabric is a gorgeous Atelier Brunette Viscose Twill and its available here if your inspired to make one just like it!

Atelier Brunette Mitsy Ecovero Viscose Twill Fabric | 1352942 | Minerva I actually hacked the pattern by not cutting the skirt back in two pieces. I cut it on the fold thus omitting the need to use a centre back seam, I had planned to put the zip in the side seam, but as the skirt fitted fine when basted at the sides I didn't need to add fastenings at all, win, win!!

This was such such a simple make once cut out, I popped some darts in on both sides of the front and back sections

The next step was to stitch and neaten the side seams.

Next I interfaced the waistband pieces and stitched them to the skirt with the right sides together. I just needed a scrap of interfacing which you can get here Vilene Vlieseline G700 Medium Woven Interfacing | 1085793 | Minerva

Almost finished now, just the hem to stitch and a quick press!!

All done, I hope you love my latest make, this skirt is so versatile. Here I've styled it with a pair of patent heels and cotton blouse for a evening look on a warm evening!

Or as an alternative on a chilly day, what about this look? Chunky leather boots and a snuggly hand knit!! I think this is my favourite look, what about you?
