Art, is what's on this skirt and don't you forget it! But then again how could you forget this little beauty.

The challenge was to utilize our color-blocking skillz with McCall's M6706, I also used Simplicity 1278 for my top.

Pattern Review

Pattern Description: McCall's M6706

Fabric Used: 100% cotton

Pattern Size: 10

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? sizing and length information was misleading

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I added a half inch for booty room but the entire skirt come out about three inches longer that the pattern stated. The finished product was a little longer than I wanted it to be.

Would you sew it again? Yes

Would you recommend it to others? Yes, it was super easy.

Pattern Description: Simplicity 1278

Fabric Used: 100% denim

Pattern Size:12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Sizing

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I did not make a muslin before I made this garment. The sizing was off by maybe two sizes. I used 12 and I needed to use at the least a 14. My daughter in real life wears a medium and we struggled to get her in this top when the photos were done. We should have had a video of that transaction it was truly some funny shit.(this one will be donated)

Would you sew it again? Maybe

Would you recommend it to others? Yes with a sizing warning

I really enjoyed adding my art to this challenge. My original plan was to use red, white and blue color blocking for this project, because I just love those colors together. I went out and bought all my fabric way ahead of time because I wanted to get this project done before the deadline creep-ed up on me as usual. A few days after I had the fabric a new thought about adding art to the garment popped in my head, so off I go again to the fabric store but I only had to buy one new piece of fabric. This is how the art was started and the completed outfit in all it's glory.
