Today’s tutorial is going to be on soft summer makeup. I’m going to show you how to get those beautiful and natural soft summer makeup looks you’ve been wanting. Let’s get started!

Tools and materials:

  • Primer
  • Foundation
  • Bronzer stick
  • Concealer
  • Setting powder
  • Highlight contour
  • Powdered bronzer
  • Brow pencil
  • Mascara
  • Blush
  • Lip liner
  • Lipstick
  • Makeup brushes
  • Beauty blender
Applying primer

1. Primer

Shake up your primer really well first, then apply it to your hands to warm up the product. Press it into your skin, and spread it evenly all over your face. This is going to give you a very nice, luminous glow - essential for summer makeup.

Applying foundation with a beauty blender

2. Foundation

I originally applied my foundation using a foundation brush, but I found that using a beauty blender gave it a better consistency. So just dip your beauty blender straight in the product, and blend it out very well. It should look very thin and natural on the skin.

Bronzing up her skin

3. Bronze

Use a contour stick to bronze up your skin. Your main focus is to just make your skin look like it’s glowing as if you’ve been out in the sun all day, so don’t do any obvious contouring. Just do a little bit of bronzing up, and bring warmth back into your skin. Blend it out the best you can with a Kabuki brush, then go in with a beauty blender to get rid of any harsh, obvious lines.

Applying concealer

4. Concealer

Next, go in with your favorite concealer. I’m applying a tiny bit underneath my eyes and in the center of my face just to brighten it up a little bit. You don’t have to go in with too much concealer just because this is a day-to-day makeup look, so you just want to even out the discoloration on your skin. Blend it out with a beauty blender, and make sure everything’s nice and seamless.

Setting concealer with powder

5. Set with powder

Set the concealer with a finishing powder or any powder you have. I also set the center of my face because that’s the only area I want to leave looking matte, so I dusted the powder on my eyelids, underneath my eyes, and in the center of my face.

Contouring her face

6. Highlight contour

Using a highlight contour, do a c-shape around the eye area and then blend with a beauty blender. This looks very natural and beautiful once everything is blended out. Also, highlight the bridge of your nose and a little bit on your Cupid’s bow. Blend.

7. Set with powder

Set again to remove the shine around your nose and forehead.

Soft summer makeup

8. Bronze

I’m using a powdered bronzer and dabbing it all over my cheeks, temple area, forehead, and neck area. Blend. This will bring a lot of warmth and glow to your face. You can also use it on your eyelid and crease to hide the discoloration on your eyelids and give your eyes some color without it looking like you’re wearing eye makeup.

Filling in her brows

9. Brows

For my brows, I just used a brow pencil to fill them in.

Applying mascara to eyelashes

10. Mascara

The mascara I’m using has both a priming side and a regular side. Prime first with the white mascara, and then use the black side. I’m applying it only to my upper lashes.

Applying blush to her cheeks

11. Blush

Apply a generous amount to your cheeks, then blend it out to your temples.

Applying lip liner

12. Lips

For the lips, I used a nude lip liner to line them first.

Then, I followed up with a pale, nude beige matte lipstick.
